Notice for Classical Archaeology course attendees

The Classical Archaeology course includes a section dedicated to the ancient city of Pavia and the
archaeological remains of the area, specifically visiting both ancient Ticinum (Pavia) and ancient
Laumellum (Lomello).
Attendance is mandatory, and the explanations are part of the exam syllabus.
On April 17th, at 13:00 PM, meeting with Professor Elena Calandra at the main entrance of Palazzo
San Tommaso for a full-afternoon tour of the Roman city and the Civic Museums of the City.
On April 18th, a “Lomello Day” will take place in Lomello to learn more about the antiquities of
ancient Lomellina.
Meeting with Professor Elena Calandra on the morning of April 18th at Pavia Station at 10:15 a.m.
to catch the 10:30 a.m. train / bus to Lomello. Participants must purchase in advance their own
tickets from and to Pavia. In Lomello, we will be welcomed by the Magnani Foundation, which is
based in Lomello and promotes initiatives to foster the development of culture and art, spending
part of the morning and afternoon.
Further information will be provided by Professor Elena Calandra on the day classes begin, April
15th.
