Dear students,
During the past days, vast demonstrations in Iran found a very violent response from the political and religious authority in Iran. Many died, many were arrested. Many are the students from Iran in our program, and we as faculty of the MedArch program would like to express to them here, away from home, and to their families, at home, our hardest sympathy on this challenging, dark time. This is, however, not only our feeling but the feeling of the entire University. Here below see the letter written by the Rector of the University of Pavia, Prof. A. Reali to the entire community. Please reach out if in need or in distress.
Warmly,
The MedArch Faculty

To the UNIPV communityAs in the recent past, in light of the unfortunate events unfolding in Iran, we feel compelled to reiterate our University's commitment to defending the fundamental values of human rights, freedom of expression, and peace as the cornerstone of relations between nations and individuals. The international situation is constantly testing us, but the protection of the individual and the implementation of the principles of international law must always guide our behavior and our actions. It is in this spirit that I extend our University's closeness and solidarity to all those who are currently experiencing particular suffering due to their distance from their loved ones, often with no way of knowing whether they are safe, starting with our students.
Again, in this situation, the University of Pavia will implement all possible measures to support the student community, both through priority channels of psychological assistance and through guidance on how to cope with situations of particular distress, ensuring the continuation of academic activities and offering all the educational support that may be necessary.
I hope that our community can regain its serenity as soon as possible, in an international context where respect for human life and fundamental values is guaranteed.
